Step 1-Apply

Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is now accepting volunteer applications for the Sixth Annual Columbus Children’s Book Festival! Free to the public, the festival includes author presentations, art demonstrations, storytelling, puppetry, musical performances, costume characters, early literacy activities, and autograph sessions. We are seeking volunteers 14 years of age and older to help set up, operate book sale, and assist in serving dinner on the evening of Friday, September 14th. Volunteers are also needed for morning and afternoon shifts to assist staff at multiple stations on Saturday, September 15th. The deadline to sign up is August 31, 2018. Step 2-Complete required forms
Adult volunteers (over 18 years of age) must submit the Background Release form in order for applications to be considered complete.
Teen volunteers must submit the Parent Release form in order for applications to be considered complete.
Completed forms may be emailed to cvlvolunteer@cvlga.org, faxed to 706-243-2714, or returned in person on the third floor of the Columbus Public Library. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Step 3-Interview/Orientation
Before volunteering with Chattahoochee Valley Libraries, all volunteers are required to attend orientation and training with the Volunteer Coordinator. The Volunteer Coordinator will give a brief tour showing volunteers where to sign-in and out and where to keep his or her name badge and belongings. Volunteers are then given “on-the-job” training in their assigned branch or department.
